One should not fiddle with file permissions whilst under the influence of Thai food. I'm afraid I may have caused my sites to implode. I'm going to have to do some triage here. Not that all that many of you are frequent flyers to some of my pages, but for those of you who are...stay tuned.

Things are going to be a bit FUBAR until I figure out what I fouled.

I found some weird weight lifting energy drink/supplement at Harris Teeter that promised inhuman amounts of caffeine and it did not lie. Now bear in mind that I weigh 235 pounds of big beefy Jewish goodness, and I am possessed of a nigh incomprehensible caffeine addiction. That being said, this stuff made me jittery. I'm not talking your average run of the mill caffeine jitters...oh no. I'm talking of "this energy drink has effected me on a subatomic level, leaving my molecular cohesion weak in the knees and allowing me to phase through solid matter" kind of jitters. It was an interesting morning.

I think I might have to have one of those every day; with my coffee of course.

Come to Umlaut tomorrow; try it, you'll like it. Special thanks to DJ [info]silent_muse for flyering for us without even being asked.

Oh, and I bought new pants...I'm cool like that.

- Just ordered a 300 GB Ultra ATA Hard Drive...because 18 GB SCSI and an external firewire drive just wasn't hacking it.

- Decided not to dress up tonight. When you wake up feeling like shit, it's hard to work up the drive to spend two hours pasting a foam latex prosthetic to your face.

- Finally bought myself a watch (just in time for the clocks to get set back no less).

- Consumed an inhuman amount of caffeine after taking a nap this afternoon/evening. It worked miracles on how I felt.

- It amazes me that I used to smoke a half a pack of cigarettes a day and now I can't even sit in a room filled with smokers without being unable to breathe the next day. From what everyone tells me, breathing is highly over-rated.

I'm off to the dawning now, sans costume. I will however be wearing it to work on Monday, then to a party, and then again to Sacrosanct...I'm keeping my fingers crossed that wearing foam latex and spirit gum for 15 hours won't be a bad thing. Yeah I know, even *I* know it's probably a bad thing.

Samurai
You are a Samurai.
You are full of honour and value respect. You
are not really the stereotypical hero, but you
do fight for good. Just in your own way. For
you, it is most certainly okay to kill an evil
person, if it is for justice and peace. You
also don't belive in mourning all the time and
think that once you've hit a bad stage in life
you just have to get up again. It's pointless
to concentrate on emotional pain and better to
just get on with everything. You also are a
down to earth type of person and think before
you act. Impulsive people may annoy you
somewhat.

This will gratify some people and astonish the
rest" -Mark Twain

So I needed a new pair of work boots so I can get stuff done in the woods. I figure, why not get something gothy *and* practical. Introducing the newest addition to the Ninja Monkey arsenal:

Hopefully they show up before Umlaut, so I'll have something stompy to go along with Prototype_IX's music. If not, there's always next time.

Oh and I'm doing my random caffeine detox thing again. The headache was a bitch earlier but is finally subsiding. Anyway, if I growl at you when you see me then I deeply apologize. It usually takes three days to get over the headache and today is day two. Hopefully all should be well by tomorrow (Wednesday) evening.

Neo-Platonism had some interesting tenets; some I agree with, others I don’t. The big one that I think every monist religion in the world should adopt is that there is an Indescribable One. No name or anything…just “The One.” Take it one step further and get rid of different religion names. Without a named deity or named religion to hide behind (I did it because Ralph the mystical head of cabbage told me to) people would actually have to *own* their beliefs. I did it because *I* thought it was the right thing to do. I’d like to think that if people were forced to take responsibility for their own actions, many of the problems we have wouldn’t be problems for very long.

Of course that would involve people accepting that they are part of a greater whole and not, in fact, the center of the universe.

I’m just pipe-dreaming about how I’d fix world dilemmas again…go on about your business.
